Q: My computer is running slow. Do I need a new computer?
A: No, not necessarily. Like cars need an oil change, computer’s need maintenance. Computers need weekly maintenance that will keep them running like new.
Q: I have virus or spyware. Do I need to reformat my disc?
A: No. We have techniques to remove the infection while preserving the integrity of your data.
Q: My internet connection is slow.
A: Your temporary folder is probably full. By typing “$temp$” at the command prompt, this will open your temporary folder. Once this is done, delete all files you see.
Q: Are CD’s or DVD’s a good choice to backup my data?
A: Not really, since CD’s and DVD’s scratch. It’s better to buy a portable hard drive, label it with a date, and replace your backup hard drive every 2-3 years.
Q: I can’t get a document to print.
A: Unplug your printer and restart the computer. When the computer reboots, plug the printer back into the computer. Let the computer reinstall the printer. If this doesn’t solve the problem, call us.
Q: I want to access my home computer from the road, can I do this?
A: Yes. Our technicians can make that possible for a one time setup fee with no reoccurring charges.
Q: I hear a lot about Windows® Vista, should I upgrade?
A: Not necessarily, since Microsoft® is releasing a new operating system in 2009. It took Microsoft® a little over 3 years to make XP stable.
Q: I want to install a second language into my computer, is this easy to do?
A: Yes it is. Go to START, then SETTINGS, then CONTROL PANEL. Choose REGIONAL AND LANGUAGE OPTIONS. Choose a language you want to install and insert your XP operating disc.
Q: I have dead spots in my home where my wireless internet does not access, can that be fixed?
A: Yes. We have amplifiers and powered antennas to increase the signal of your wireless internet.
